Stockport Bus Interchange
BDP has proposed this holistic ‘masterplan’ strategy for the Stockport Interchange to be a dynamic vision enabling SMBC and TfGM to deliver an integrated redevelopment of this part of the town centre. Project's planning application has been successful and project is moving towards RIBA Stage 3.
The Vision
The new £50m interchange will provide passengers with first class facilities along with a huge new town centre landscaped park. The development focuses on improving connectivity as well providing a new apartment block for the town centre.
The park will cover the 10,000 sqm bus interchange and provide connections to a new riverside public realm. A pedestrian and cycle bridge will link the interchange to the railway station as well as the town’s new commercial hub.
